Barton-le-Clay sits just over the Bedfordshire border in MK45, roughly 15 minutes north of central Luton via the A6. It's a proper village with a mix of older stone and brick cottages near the church end, 1970s semis spread across the residential streets, and newer cul-de-sac builds on the edges. We get called out here for the usual domestic lockouts, but a fair amount of the work is cylinder upgrades and lock replacements on the older housing stock that hasn't been touched in decades.
Most of our calls come from Manor Road, Bedford Road and the streets off Sharpenhoe Road. The village sits at the foot of the Chiltern Hills escarpment, so it feels tucked away, but we come straight up the A6 from Luton and it's a clean run most times of day. The older properties near St Nicholas Church still have their original mortice locks from the 1980s or earlier, and honestly a lot of them are well overdue a proper British Standard upgrade. The newer builds on the north side tend to have composite doors with multi-point locking that needs specialist attention when the mechanism fails.
